From the Blogosphere: Everybody Wants to Be a Conservative

The blog, The Conservative Pup, writes about the Oklahoma governor's race:

Mary Fallin has stated clearly and without politi-speak her position on illegal immigration.  Gov. Jan Brewer has endorsed Mary Fallin.  Mary Fallin isn’t afraid to take a stand.
Her opponent hasn’t taken a stand, not really.  Though I suppose you could make the case that in answering that she does support the Dream Act, and by not stating clearly if she supports Arizona’s legislation on illegal trespassers that she has taken a stand.
That’s not the stand that is good for Oklahoma.  And it’s not the stance of an ‘Oklahoma conservative.’
Oklahomans have a choice in November between two women to be our next governor, and only Mary Fallin is a conservative in this race.

Mary Fallin Receives Tax Fighter Award

The National Tax Limitation Committee (NTLC) has honored Congressional Representative Mary Fallin with its 111th Congress "Tax Fighter Award." NTLC President Lewis K. Uhler presented the award to Mary Fallin in Washington, saying "Mary Fallin's votes on tax and spending issues in the 111th Congress earned an ‘A' grade and the Tax Fighter Award.

"Mary Fallin has led the battle on behalf of taxpayers to stop the passage of ObamaCare and cap-and-trade legislation, to make the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts permanent, to eliminate the death tax, to kill the Alternative Minimum Tax, to provide incentives for private savings, investment and job creation and to control the growth of federal spending.

"Mary Fallin has been a major asset to taxpayers across America during his congressional service, having earned the Tax fighter Award consistently in every session of Congress. Mary Fallin has had the courage to challenge the orthodoxy of Washington spending and earmarks," concluded Uhler.

Background information: Since 1975 the National Tax Limitation Committee, a 501(c)(4) grass roots taxpayer activist organization, has worked to limit taxes and spending and to reduce the size and scope of government at all levels. NTLC has led the national movement for constitutional tax and spending limits at the stat and federal levels. NTLC publishes a congressional scorecard at the conclusion of each Congress, as it has for more than a quarter-century.

KJRH: Mary Fallin and Jari Askins discuss education in Tulsa Monday

KJRH in Tulsa covered the candidate forum at Educare Tulsa:
U.S Representative Mary Fallin is running on the Republican ticket for governor. "This is a great example of how we can target our money to get the most bang for our buck, helping prepare our children for starting their educational school system," Fallin said.
She says the state has to find money already in the budget to support education. "I'm interested in how can we spend our money the most effectively, and get the best results for the education system. As we do that, hopefully we'll be able to stretch our dollars even further, because the reality is, these are tough economic times for our state," she said.
